I've had a few. You really shouldn't go assuming it's not a bug if it doesn't happen to you...

Some of it does depend on where you are and where the players are does it not?

Hime-chi absolutely agrees with Shinigami-kun!

Hime-chi doesn't play in bnet coz this happens a lot. She only plays with gamers in her place to avoid such desynch problems.

But, this isn't a game bug, right? Coz when I was in the Philippines 5 years ago, I could play WoW in bnet. But, when I went back here in my homeland, I couldn't play happily in bnet anymore.

I'm gonna say desync issues stem from the map. Even when I play a LAN game by myself, I often have to remake 4-5 times due to the desync.

darkchaos what map editor do you use? UMSWE can cause desynchs with one of its map tiles.

Different patches are incompatible so they cause desyncs.
Mainly causes problems in garena and pvpgns such as eurobattle

I registered to say this. :P There are constant desyncs every other game. Granted some of them don't happen for hours, while others only takes up to half an hour or less. This need to be addressed as it is a great concept and I am loving every minute of it. But the desyncs are making it hard for the rest of my party to level with me. Being host I always get to save last. :P

Desync only happens in bots. Ive played 1000+ CoT games and I've never had a desync until I played one with a bot. Server splits, on the other hand, are common. If you don't want a desync and a server split instead, then host a non-bot game.

A desynch is a bots version of a server-split, it just keeps the games together because bots can host more than 1 game at a time, normal people however cannot, so in a normal game it splits up. (at least that is what i assume happens)
