Bows do until Void or Hell, forget which, then pure damage. Quote (Dracula) For that matter, I don't recall them giving anything to make up for not having stats (more base damage is not an excuse; the stats usually make up for the base damage). I mean, sure, evasion isn't that great with low percents, but at least Chain gets evasion compared to Full Plate, for example.
So unless they're getting some other non-negligible beneficial effect, they should probably have their damage reduced and some stats added. Maybe not as much as Daggers/Heavy/so on, but they should still get something.
So we just buff shortsword a bit? What, that it? Yes, I do love Chain's effect of evasion. If there were a heavy/chain PF guy I'd love to try him. He'd get epic strength and super evade, so he's a good tank all around. (Good luck hitting with enough evade, and good killing with enough strength). Anyway, yeah, all of the armors have a stat (fullplate's stat is uber armor) and only 1 of the weapons doesn't-shortsword. Bow does early on and loses it later, which is fail. It's extremely fail because PR would do much better with 100k agi than 100k damage, INSANELY better. What's to say it wasn't a heavy sword? Why do you WANT Savior to be weaker anyway?!?!?!

| i dont i just like the saviors story it was a short sword it was the Blessed Blade of the GoDs or something blade=smallor medium fine edged weapon so shortsword makes most sense

| Blade? That's all it was? That could be anything from a dagger to a spear! They've all got sharp edges! Besides, it's the Chaotic World. I really doubt Azazoth was blessing anything, and the Goddesses weren't around to bless anything then.

| GoDs** o.o they arnt mentioned in the game lol spear isnt a blade, a dagger is a blade but doesnt fit the context of the story the only 2 that fit into context would be shortsword or claymore/great sword but he holds a shield and its near impossible (inreal life) to hold a claymore/great with one hand and keep it steady without it throwing off your balance so.....shortsword+shield=most sense

A spear HAS a blade. Some do anyway. Try checking the pointy end of it, some have blades there. So it's kinda like a sword on a stick.

| Yeah, which is why he doesn't have Fullplate. His sword isn't that light either, which is why it shouldn't be shortsword. Seriously, you're arguing to keep the Savior in a weaker state, and to keep his Thunder Clap weaker. Why?! If we made him into a Heavy user, he'd have more strength, so Thunder Clap hit harder, and so he could tank better.

| I think the problem lies for more than just the savior. THe shortsword doesnt have any bonuses.

| And later Bows too. They're just pure damage. But if you gave Shortsword a bonus, what would it be? Bonus attack speed? That seems useless for the most part. Bonus stats? You've got Str and Int guys using Shortsword (probably Agi too), so what would you give it? The only thing I can see working out for it is maybe some weak all-stats, and a really good damage bonus.

| Well considering his armor (for at least Hell, don't know what else) also doesn't boost Str, he would be tertiary tank.
