You obviously didn't take care of it properly. The only problems I had with my 360 that I got the year after the original 360 came out, was the disc drive, one of the wires got messed up due to overheating.

Most people think they take care of their 360, but playing over 5 hours in a row is bad for it, ESPECIALLY the elite, since it has a better processor. And you must also keep the "brick" off the ground.

i just played 13 hours straight on my new xbox 360 (parents got me a new 1 still elite :)) and nothing wrong
