Well i just got this idea to make class specific items. Take Legion for example, he would drop Legions Dagger, Cloak for agility players, Legions Sword, Robe for caster chars, and Legions Plate Mail for and Legions Claymore for tanks.
Of course, this would require a lot of work on my part as I would have to make about 5 extra items for every boss in the game.
However, some items will be availiable to all classes, such as accessories such as aura of life.
The only exception would be hybrids, who could use items from both classes eg. both Legions Dagger, Cloak, Legions Plate Mail and Legions Claymore.
There will be also be items for in between classes like hybrids, such as Light Legions Armor or Legions sword. This will help to make classes less the same, as everyone wouldn't just have the same items if they were the same level, and got the same items from the same monsters.
It will also helps prevent casters and agility users to have the same items as tanks, which would make them dd tanks and vice versa.
It will even allow customization for hybrid players as they need to find the items that would best fit the role they are taking (eg. dd tank - agil items with maybe 1 tank item, pure tank - all tank items, casting tank - caster items and tank items)
There will also be such hybrids that are able to use items from all three classes.
I may or may not decide to put this in .55b. If i do, the version number will go up to a whooping .67b and will take a much, much longer time to finish.
Current Stage of Idea (from page 6):
Hmm... how about items that are usable by everyone, but give greater stats if geared towards a class more suited for it? That would also be rather unique wouldn't it?
Say for example, you have a Staff of Existence
Picking it up gives the following bonus's to the following classes:
Caster Class - 9000% mana regen, 400,000 int, 2 mil mana
Agi Class - 5000% mana regen, 290,000 int, 1.4 mil mana
Tank Class - 3300% mana regen, 180,000 int, 0.8 mil mana
Another example, Thanatos Plate:
Caster Class - 40,000 armor
Agi Class - 65,000 armor
Tank Class - 98,000 armor
Final Example:
Abyssal Daggers:
Caster Class - 50,000 agi, 300,000 dmg
Tank Class - 30,000 agi, 200,000 dmg
Agi Class - 140,000 agi, 1,100,000 dmg
