| Right, i'm playing and i can't figure out how the multiplayer load works, i've gotten as far as -load T8V#-3333-3333-33~U-xxxx-1d8u-8333-33jx-xxxx-3=#3w/
however i just get an eroor message.
any help?

Does it look at the spaces/dashes? They're just spacers I thought...
And Djerf, it's hard to help when we can't see the original "SAVE CODE: blahblahblahblahblahblahblah".
If you hate trying to get all the codes manually, a wonderful thing I started using a while back has made getting codes just plain STUPID easy.
GameCapture
Just open WC3 before you open this, and any text that the game displays in-game (like save codes), will show up on that.
But if you go to the Colosseum, I doubt it'll be happy, considering I don't think they have changed how the gold shows up (which is just a super spam of "game-display text".) So just open it before you want to save and you'll be fine.

| Did codes change? I don't remember there being any "~", "=", or "/" in them....
Perhaps my memory is just being terrible again though....

| Well the thing is that I tried several variations on the code and even several different codes from sites like http://playdota.eu/stats/game/2886268/cot-rpg-pom-foc-4 but the error still remains (I’ve checked that it’s the right version).
I have two ideas as to why I can’t load a) I changed the name of the game file and that somehow messed with it (this seems farfetched) or b) my game file is corrupt, however I can’t test it because the patience of the only other I know who enjoyed the game ran out after a few hours.
The reason I used x in some places in my code is that I wasn’t sure how you would view it if I gave away save codes on the official forum and I couldn’t find anyone else who had done that so I took the safe path 
Edit2: The code is caps sensetive right?

| Codes are case-sensative and I believe they're also name-locked. Like, my code wouldn't work for you. The username has to be the same.
It's possible that it spat out a bad code, I think MysticProphet was the one who said it was possible.
Did you screenshot the code? (Mind showing it...?)

| I’d do it if I knew how to post images on this forum, and the screen shot was lost but I do have a new one that I’m just about to try.
Edit: I’m on LAN, could that be the problem?
Edit 2: the problem was the name thing and that we must have written down the code, disregarding that it was case sensitive.

Long as you aren't alone, it doesn't really matter if you're on LAN.
But yeah, a lot of maps seem to have name-binding, I'd find it stranger if they didn't.
