I was looking at the hacker bans and what I got to say is this. Why even try to ban someone who downloaded the hacked games, you can name ban them and they make a different account and hack that one all it takes to get a hacked character in an rpg is 10 minutes. -lvl -stats -spawn (item code). And what is the use of banning there IP's when there is proxy. So all i am saying is that it really is no use banning people who download hacked maps. I do it all the time to mess with people in games. And btw if i were you i would ban spoofs from bots because I have used your bots namespoofing owners you should have your bot kick all spoofers. btw jj4ever your name does make a reference to jj2197 the make of jj's cheat pack and its funny how you had a hacked character from one of the maps with his cheat pack.

If you register you can look at the downloadable content notice how above it says Activator -cheats and how below it says 75 times downloaded... 75 people have a hacked map of cot I wonder how many actually play it then find out the percentage of those that are cheating I don't doubt some of the people here are using hacked chars.

It's called trying. The computer fluent hackers will always get in easily, but the non-fluent ones will fail. It's a safeguard such as many software makers safeguard their products even though torrent suppliers can easily break them. The majority (the non-fluent computer users) will not breach this safeguard, I guarantee you. 75 is actually a low number compared to the amount of cot players. However, I do agree that WC3 is fail for not including a unique identifier to each cdkey so you can actually ban the cdkey the person is using like many games do such as UT2k4. BNet/Blizzard only cares about themselves and that they can permaban and not individual hosters.

This question is the same as asking why try banning maphackers. Oh but they tried, and they succeeded. The % of maphackers now is much lower than it was a year ago. I know from ladder and a lot of competitive team maps and I can tell the % is lower through experience.

Btw, do not post a link like that ever again. Bots should be able to decipher spoofers, it seems the latest version of bot has different spoofcheck settings and letting spoofers in...I'll look into that.

1) If you ban the hackers, then they have to make a new acct - then gotta tell their friends their new acct.
2) It's really easy to ban people, only takes me like 2-3secs.
3) Finally, we ban hackers because it keeps the game from getting so stupidly ruined.

Ps. I bet every1 agrees to banning hackers.

When faced with two choices just simply flip a coin. Not because it settles the question for you, but because that one second it is in the air you suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Thanks for bringing to my attention the spoof problem.

geogeo: That's what bots do as well...they spoofcheck them by doing a /whois on each realm and if they are not found in game they get kicked, so bots do keep spoofers out. Some versions of the ghost bot have a malfunction in this area. I have fixed this malfunction on the bots I monitor.
