Here's another scenario: say a player made the name Yuki and hacked on Azeroth. That person gets reported and name banned. But there is another player on Northrend also using the name Yuki with no relation to this other person that got banned. They never met before and the Yuki on Northrend is just playing the map normally.
I have had this EXACT thing happen to me before on another map. Thankfully, I'd helped out the creator of that map test one of the newest versions about a month before he started using banlist on his map, so after talking with him We both came to the conclusion it was not me that had hacked the map, but someone on another server (wasnt west or east, one of the other ones)
Thankfully, he did offer to take my name off the banlist, but I told him to keep it on(since I already was making this acct anyways) and even told him the name of this acct so he'd have the option to ban this one as well if he really felt the need to not trust me.
All in all, I support Banlists :3
