Base defense

Ever have had your base destroyed by Legion?
Yes, you have.
It's a interesting turn of events, albeit an annoying one. Moreover, it's pissing me off when I can do nothing about it.
Even the most secure base(NE) with bridge closed does not stop him from teleporting in and destroying bases, leaving the player unable to do anything.
Now, this is the interesting part. In HoN, you could say "always carry homecoming stone", but here...

Yeye.
Let's take a look at the options:
#1) Buy a Satan's Abode.
This is the best choice for a leveling base, and a cheaper one for those who cannot afford a nation.
This base has NO defense of any kind.
#2) Buy a Chaotic Nation.
This is the best farming base, although more expensive.
The cash pays off though, you have a teleport function at one of your buildings. Neat!
#3) Stay in base with your hero
Nuh-uh.

The masonry upgrade for Chaotic Nation is useless, but so are all of the buildings except for the town hall and the teleport building. This will probably be changed in the future.
However, Satan's Abode have no defense what so ever. This means you simply have to watch Legion destroy your base.
I'd suggest adding a 10-second divine shield-type ability to both bases with perhaps 10 minutes cooldown and a teleport function à la the one at the teleport building for the Abode.

One of the reasons that this is annoying is because of the zepps etc dying with your race (http://pomfoc.ucoz.com/forum/24-675-1) (BB [url] code disabled?)

You can kill Legion to avoid this, yes you can. But you normally want to spend your hours fighting the drop rates that screw you over again and again.
It's interesting when it happens, but not fun when you can do literally nothing about it.
Did I mention he can teleport to your base while you are fighting him?(Doesn't happen often, but when it does...).

This has been talked about before and mentioned that it keeps players on their toes and reminds them, "hey this is Chaotic World, the world is in chaos, nothing is safe"

Personally ive been the victim of Legion Tele base kill and it seriously isn't the end all/be all.

On US East: Fatmandown

mmm I think it could be interesting tongue but it has never happened to me before, but then again i seem to build a base wherever i feel the impulse to >_> so maybe i'm just lucky or have some kind of sixth sense, but wait... I did have one instance where legion did tele into my base but didn't kill the base itself, don't know why but it just happened that way :P mmm rather than the bases having ability, i'd prefer having chaotic items with some abilities, like a chaotic book that has mass teleport, gives some stats instead of having to carry a normal blood elf book to be able to save someone or for convenience, you know? mm i think we already talked about making all chaotic items have some abilities, personally i think thanatos wings should have mapwide or just long range blink since the description kind of makes it sound like it should O_O, oh and if we're going with the book idea, i think there should be mage-monsters on that biiig open space between wolves and hell monsters in chaos realm with the boss which will drop the book like Chaotic Meta Mage's Book or something >_> :P just an idea

what would happen if Yuki was a vampire

Think i'll just make him not spawn within a certain range of your main base. Watch out for your expansion bases though :P

As said, I don't mind him doing it at all. It's interesting. I like it.
It makes the game more dynamic with more unforeseen events(the game gets very linear...) and as you said, HellishProphet, it keeps you on your toes.

I however think you should have a decent chance to do something, not just sit and watch him destroy whatever his greedy fingers are violating. I know a few tricks to stall him, but it's annoying(in lack of a better word) and not always possible.

On a side note, his teleport could need a little polishing as he now and then teleports to the weirdest hilltops and whatnot. Unless this piñata is supposed to hide himself, that is.

IF darkchaos wanted to fix this, you could make the base areas like the gods area, so u cant teleport to them, so legion couldnt teleport into them

personally i dont care if he fixes it or not, i dont like having my base destroyed but it makes it really easy to find legion lol

1 Iron Buckler: 60% to block 20 damage ; 0.6 x 20 = 12 average

2 Iron Bucklers: 1 - (1-0.6)(1-0.6) = 1 - (0.4)(0.4) = 1 - 0.16 = 0.84 = 84% to block 20 damage; 0.84 x 20 = 16.8 average

How about give your home town a 20 second net that disables a single target, high refresh rate and makes the target invulnerable (so you don't use it to kill him, just stop an attacker until you get there). If you could add in an upgrade to the armor amount to the building, make it $$ but so it takes a minute for him to kill the base itself - then if it dies, it's your fault for being afk or not trying to get there in time.

If he can't randomly spawn near your base, it just means people can afk farm overnight and not really play the game imo...

How about you do some real observation and stop lieing in the community? That aint the safest "base" spot on the map. Think twice and look around.

Same with the legion teleport. It's good to see him teleporting around but rather annoying when you are too weak to kill him and you dont have money for second base. Just build you're base to the safest spot if you dont want this to occur. (Yes, there is one spot where no Sin nor Legion can/will teleport).

I'd suggest to keep Legion or add more of them. It is often annoying to first spot him, then kill him before teleport just to find that he dropped ainother normal Legion item.

Now i havn't been on for a while but the safest spot used to be the horde base (without breaking the gate) and rest assured,
legion and sin can get in it if you are unlucky.

I find it funny though. in my opinion don't change it, it is chaos after all.

i dont even make a base anymore now that im lvl 999, i dont intend to ever be stupid enough to die, so no reason to make something legion might kill and screw me over

Do orc base. Have the door not be killed and I've seen Legion get stuck behind the trees before. It's the most safe base in the right position, if you don't kill the gate. Then Sins don't get in either. smile

DAMN LEGION KILLED MY BASE MANY TIMES. Be careful with the orc, near denieds, and near the gods bases. he seem to spawn in those quite often i suppose because of their sizes.
