Another option is to have 1k+ gold and say "-rv" (without quotes)
You lose 10% of your gold (and if you have 10+ platinum coins, 10% of those too) so it's not great with tons of cash (please note it does NOT charge any lumber at all) but is great for a quick revive. Make sure you say -rv AFTER it gives the "Our hero has been killed" message, because that can mess a few things up (I've noticed sight range is crap when you do it before that message)
Also know it's not perfect, it might not always work. Always have a house, to revive, and to get exp past level 100. (Well, 101, but anyway-exp gain is crap without a house) Personally I recommend the Tower house, and if someone is nice or you've saved up a lot of money, the Castle of the Gods is useful. If you want good EXP without all of that money, the Dimitshir house thing is good, or the Velreon Guard too (for the Medean "empire", but he's a pain to get)
